Who we are

502Genius (502genius.com) is a market-intelligence service operated by Tidepool Technologies LLC ("we", "us"). We provide subscription analytics on the licensed Washington State cannabis market, built from public records published by the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WSLCB). This policy describes what information we collect from you as a user of the service and how we handle it.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and a cryptographically hashed form of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
• Subscription and billing status: whether your subscription is active and, if you subscribe, customer and subscription identifiers issued by our payment processor. Payment card details are collected and stored by the payment processor, not by us.
• In-app preferences: settings you create while using the service, such as watchlist entries, saved screens, and email-notification preferences, plus a record of the digest emails we have sent you.
• Security and session data: a session cookie when you log in, and login-attempt and IP-address information used for rate limiting and to protect accounts from unauthorized access.

How we use it

We use this information to deliver the service (authentication, subscription access, watchlists and alerts you request), to secure it (fraud and abuse prevention, account protection), and to improve it. We send transactional and subscription-related email, and — only if you leave alerts enabled — a periodic market digest, which you can turn off in your account or via the one-click unsubscribe link in any digest.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
• We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking on this site. The only cookie we set is our own first-party session cookie used to keep you logged in; display preferences (such as theme) are stored locally in your browser.
• We do not share your account information with third parties except our service providers (payment processing, email delivery, and hosting) as needed to operate the service, or where required by law.

Note on the market data itself: the analytics we publish are built from Washington State public records about licensed businesses— wholesale and retail activity reported to the WSLCB. That data is licensee-level business information from the public record; it is not personal or consumer data, and it does not come from our users.

Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. Security logs and email-delivery records are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above. If you delete your account, we remove your account record and associated preferences, retaining only what we are required to keep for legal, billing, or fraud-prevention purposes. Residual copies may persist in our encrypted backups for a limited period before they are rotated out.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time. Email [email protected] from the address on your account and we will respond within a reasonable time, typically within 30 days.

Children

502Genius is a business-to-business service intended for use by licensed businesses and their staff. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
